ABOUT US

Valley View Bible Camp began as Carberry Bible Camp which was established in 1962. Eighteen acres of leased land was cleared, and buildings were added. Throughout the sixties, various improvements were made including installation of hydro, building a chapel, and the purchase of tents and Director’s quarters. It was also during this time that CBC became associated with CSSM, now One Hope Canada.

During the seventies, more improvements were added. Mattresses were purchased, modern washrooms were constructed, and CBC t-shirts were introduced! Family camp was also started during this decade.

In the eighties, the new lodge was completed. The lodge included new living quarters for staff, a dining hall, modern kitchen, and a full basement.  Carberry Bible Camp became a year-round camp in 1986 and was available for rental throughout the year.

Throughout the 1990s, CBC added a host of new activities. These included a water slide, zipline, and a “mobile spelunking maze”.  Carberry Bible Camp’s first year held 51 people, and increased to 650 campers by the year 2000.

In 2001, Carberry Bible Camp moved 5 miles south of MacGregor, Manitoba and became Valley View Bible Camp and Retreat Centre. It has consistently maintained its purpose of instructing children, young people, and adults in the Word of God.

During the transition phase, camper numbers decreased but are now as high as ever with an average of 650 campers each summer. Along with summer camp, Valley View Bible Camp is also a year-round facility with regular hosted events and guest groups using the facility. During the winter months, Valley View runs a tubing hill which brings many to know of the camp’s mission and purpose.

The future is bright and busy for Valley View Bible Camp as an addition to the main lodge is in the beginning stages of planning and building. This expansion will enable more to hear of Christ. Valley View is an extension of the Church and strives to bring the Gospel to those with least opportunity, especially children and youth, in a camp setting. We disciple believers for living and serving in His Church.

Valley View Bible Camp is a ministry of One Hope Canada (formerly CSSM Ministries). Valley View is accredited with the Manitoba Camping Association.
